Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA) selected the latest release (release 5.11) of SMARTest from MinMax to manage the inspection and asset maintenance of their 73 distribution substations and 306,000 distribution poles spread over 27,000 sq. miles. The Navajo Nation extends into the states of Utah, Arizona and New Mexico, covering over 27,000 square miles of unparalleled beauty.
After looking at several field force inspection software tools and a careful evaluation of SMARTest from MinMax, NTUA decided to go with SMARTest for its substation specific application, instant deployment, ease of use and configuration, and rapid adaptability to perform inspection for its 300,000 + poles using the GIS with Google Maps.
NTUA believes that with the help of SMARTest, they will improve their operation significantly by cutting down on several long distance inspection trips, as well as achieving efficiency by keeping track of their 306,000+ poles and inspecting them in an organized manner using Google Maps.
